Endurance Cycling

Shekhoo began cycling seriously in 2016.

His first major cycling journey was a solo ride to Munsyari in Uttarakhand that year. The experience changed his approach to adventure travel and led him increasingly towards long-distance cycling rather than motorcycle touring.

He subsequently undertook solo cycling journeys to destinations including Chopta and Kaza and completed a solo ride from Manali to Leh in 2017.

In September 2018, he cycled the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal on a journey beginning and ending in Pokhara.

In 2019, he rode to Kaza during winter with his friend Vikas Anand, undertaking what is commonly known as a Winter Spiti ride. The same year, he organised a group cycling tour from Manali to Leh with five participants.

He later also travelled from Manali towards Leh through the Zanskar region, visiting monasteries and other places of interest along the way.

In 2024, he undertook another high-altitude Himalayan journey, cycling from Manali towards Umling La.

Silk Road Mountain Race

Shekhoo Raja has completed the Silk Road Mountain Race in Kyrgyzstan three times.

He first participated in the race in 2022 and successfully finished the event. He returned in 2024 for his second completion and again in 2025 for his third.

The Silk Road Mountain Race is a major part of his involvement in self-supported ultra-endurance cycling, combining long distances, remote terrain, mountain passes and independent decision-making over multiple days.

Audax and Long-Distance Cycling

Shekhoo has also been involved in Audax cycling as both a rider and organiser.

He joined the local Audax group in Gwalior and helped organise Audax India brevets ranging from 200 kilometres to 600 kilometres.

As a rider, he completed a series of brevets sufficient to earn the Super Randonneur title.

In 2021, he participated in Climbs Ka Baap, commonly known as CKB, a demanding 1,200-kilometre brevet organised by Delhi Randonneurs with more than 8,000 metres of elevation gain.

He returned to CKB in 2022 and completed the event for a second time.

Atlas Mountain Race

In 2023, Shekhoo entered the Atlas Mountain Race in Morocco.

He became unwell shortly before the race but started the event in the hope of recovering while riding. Continuing weakness eventually led him to withdraw after approximately 400 kilometres.

Motorcycling and Exploration

Before concentrating on cycling, Shekhoo spent many years exploring India and neighbouring countries by motorcycle.

He began long-distance motorcycle touring around 2008-2009. His journeys included Ladakh, Spiti, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Nepal, Bhutan and numerous other regions.

Across these journeys he estimates that he covered more than 150,000 kilometres of exploratory motorcycle travel.

Motorcycles he has owned and ridden have included the Royal Enfield Classic 500, Royal Enfield Meteor 650, Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Hero Xpulse.

Bulleteers

During his years of motorcycle travel, Shekhoo founded a riders' group called Bulleteers.

The group was intended to bring together riders interested in travel, exploration and motorcycles. It developed a substantial online following and had grown to approximately 50,000 followers on Instagram by 2016.

Exploring Gwalior

Alongside longer journeys, Shekhoo spent considerable time exploring lesser-known locations around Gwalior.

He travelled to, photographed, mapped and documented routes to places including Nareshwar, Nalkeshwar, Likhichhaj, Motology Falls and several other locations for which relatively little information was available online at the time.

He also organised rides, gatherings and camping trips around Gwalior. These included visits and night camping trips to Pagara as early as 2014.

Pagara and several locations around the Tighra region subsequently became increasingly popular local recreational destinations.

Running

Shekhoo also runs recreationally.

His most significant long-distance running effort was a solo run of approximately 52 kilometres from Gwalior to Pagara in 2023.

A foot injury in 2024 prevented him from running consistently for an extended period. He later returned gradually to running and continues to work on rebuilding his running endurance.

Gaming and Tekken

Gaming has been another long-standing interest.

Shekhoo spent considerable time playing World of Warcraft, particularly in a tank role, and later played games including Call of Duty, Tekken and Diablo.

He has also been involved in organising competitive Tekken events.

Among these were tournaments in Gwalior and Delhi that attracted many prominent Indian Tekken players and were among the larger Tekken gatherings in the country at the time.

He has additionally organised smaller informal tournaments at gaming venues to encourage younger players to participate in competitive Tekken.

Professional Life

Professionally, Shekhoo has managed a Bharatgas distributorship in Gwalior since 2006.

The distributorship serves both domestic and commercial LPG customers and has received multiple sales and performance awards at Bharatgas company events over the years.

Motology

Shekhoo also created and operated a community space at his home called Motology.

The idea was to provide motorcyclists, cyclists and gamers with a place where they could meet, work on their interests and spend time together without the cost and time limitations associated with meeting at conventional commercial venues.

The space included tools and equipment that visitors could use for motorcycle, cycling and other hobby-related activities.

The Motology name subsequently became associated with several of Shekhoo's online activities and projects.

Technology and Intradayman

Shekhoo has maintained a long-standing interest in programming, technology and building systems around his own requirements.

One of his projects is Intradayman, a website documenting his work and research involving intraday stock trading.

As part of the project, he has developed and continues to refine his own algorithm-based trading logic through research, observation and testing.

Film, Education and Creative Work

While in college, Shekhoo was part of a four-member team that produced a short film titled Pen vs Pen as a college project.

The film received an award at the India International Film Festival in Goa in 2005.

He has also conducted seminars at schools and colleges covering subjects including programming, photography, art and animation.

He has additionally written scripts for e-learning courses for Zee Learn.
